Roof Replacement, New Roof Installations

Is your roof old or just falling apart? Replacing your roof is a major task that requires doing your homework and making decisions on the:

  • Specific roofing materials (asphalt shingles, metal roofing, wood shakes, slate, tile, etc.)
  • Life span of your roof (10, 15, 30, 50 year roofing materials).
  • Budget and financing options to purchase a roof replacement or installation.

Why You Need A Roof Inspection And Estimate

Do you notice roof leaks in your house now? Is your roof old? Is the roof falling apart? Do you know exactly where the roof leak is located? (Remember-water travels. Where the water comes out is not necessarily where it originally enters.) Can the roof leak be fixed with only minor repairs? Or has the roof leaked for quite some time, and the damage is extensive?

Unless it's completely obvious, only an effective inspection and analysis from a roofing expert can help you answer the questions above. We will come and assess the state of your roof, with a clear way to find the right solution. We will document and provide you with the analysis as to why you do, or do not need a new roof. In many of our estimates, simple repairs are all that is called for.

However, if a full replacement is needed, we will explain why it's necessary, and how the process and work will be done, to least affect the rest of your home. In fact, in most instances we install full roof replacement jobs in just a couple of days.

Flat and Low-Slope Roofs: TPO and EPDM Advantages:

  • Green, eco-friendly. EPDM rubber roofs are made out of recycled materials, making them environmentally friendly.
  • Reduces cooling and heating bills. EPDM rubber reflects the heat of Utah summers, and insulates against the cold of Utah winters. making it economically friendly. This helps keep your air conditioning, swamp cooler and furnace bills down.
  • Waterproof. EPDM is a great material for keeping water away from your housing structure.
  • Long lasting. Rubber roofs typically last 30-50 years.
  • Fire resistant. EPDM rubber roofs are fire retardant. They are also ozone and UV stable, making the materials themselves nonperishable.
  • Repairs are done simply and inexpensively, since they can be concentrated on just the hole, tear or puncture, without having to disrupt larger areas of the roof.
  • Rubber weighs a lot less than slate or cedar. This gives the roofer an advantage when hauling the materials to and from the roof for installation.
  • Since rubber roofing does not rely on gravity like traditional shingles do, it is ideal for flat or low pitched roofs.
  • Limited seams. Since it can be purchased in widths as much as 50 feet, you can "wrap a roof with virtually no seams, virtually “shrink wrapping” your entire roof.
  • Flexible. It shifts with your house, as your home settles over the years.
  • Variety of colors. You can select from a variety of colors and shades, making rubber roofs compatible with your exterior home decor.

Fill in and submit our “Free Roof Estimates” form, and we will contact you and schedule a simple inspection and analysis, free of obligation. So even if you know you aren't ready to replace yet, you can get an expert opinion and use that for your planning.

Our Roofing Process

A moderately-sized, professionally-installed roofing job might take only 3 or 4 days.

  • We remove all existing roofing material (shingles, slate, shakes, or tiles, etc.) and remove them from your property in roll away containers.
  • Based upon roof inspection, we make minor repairs on roof- if in good condition. If not, replace bad wood with plywood or 1"x6" boards, whichever is applicable to your roof.
  • We install ice dam protection, a barrier of synthetic materials to prevent backed up ice in the gutters which prevents ice-melt from draining away. The ice-melt will permeate under the shingles and cause damage to the inside of your house.
  • We lay down asphalt paper.
  • We install the specific roofing material (roof shingles, shakes, slate, or tile, etc.)
  • We install flashing around all areas where leaks might come into the house - against the chimney, stack vents, etc.
  • Install the ridge vent.

Is Summer the Only Time to Replace a Roof? Can I Replace My Roof In The Winter Months?

With our replacement process being so streamlined, you don't have to be concerned with the time of year, or the effects of the climate on the roofing job. We can do a roof replacement or new roof installation with very little time and energy loss, because of our roofing technology and tools.

The weather conditions do not have to be perfectly dry. However, any partially installed areas must be perfectly dry before any covering layers are installed. That is why we employ a large team of professional roofers who can complete this work phase in hours, instead of days.

TPO, EPDM Flat, Low Slope Roofing: Why Call A Professional Roofer?

  • Not a "Do-It-Yourself" roof project. Working with rubber roofs requires experience. Trained professional roofers in flat, low slope, EPDM and TPO materials should be hired for such work. (Read the points below as proof).
  • Roof structures pose sealing challenges. Piping, HVAC units, chimneys, and vent stack lines all pose an additional threat to the integrity of your rubber roof. These are the areas where you are most likely to see leaks. Proper flashing and sealing procedures cannot be "short-cuts", or roof leaks will probably ensue later.
  • Rubber can be easily damaged by a falling branch, satellite dish, or foot traffic.  Although it is easy to repair, sometimes it can be difficult to find the exact location of the leak, especially if the hole, tear or break is minimal.

The best advice is to make sure the TPO roofing membrane is from a manufacturer that has been around since the beginning of TPO production (around 2000). They will likely have the most long lasting formulation available on the market today.
